Dashwood Books Item #29711
The text, written by my mother, in French, is translated into Spanish and English.
It describes the journey I have embarked upon as a person and as an artist — carrying both french and chilean family heritages — between marks of exiles, resistance, past ideals and love stories over the years.
First too bashful I tried to preserve the images of the one I loved with over printing and wax, hiding and masking them to the world.
Slowly assuming my role and my responsibility I want to show them now on high lights — as they are. Photographic medium is my way to communicate with them but also to try to express these untouchable poetry feelings and desires I have. By opening this book you open a space of intimacy, my models as my first audience, it is now shared to the world.
Like my work and collaborations, this book carries a unifying and international dimension. Photos have been taken on the road I choose, over borders.
It has been designed in Bangkok, produced in Mexico by Javier Salomón in a very artisanal way, co-published by Red Lebanese — my own publishing company — and Alien Libros —Javier’s publishing house based in Mexico City — and finally released in NYC.” —PJ
